DepEd Regional Director Tolentino G. Aquino and Policy, Planning, and Division (PPRD) Chief Cecilia P. Rosido welcomed the personnel of Pangasinan State University (PSU), led by PSU – Urdaneta City Campus Dean of the College of Computing, Dr. Frederick F. Patacsil, who paid a visit on March 24, 2023.
The engagement ushered the partnership between the two agencies on the design and development of DepEd Region I Research Portal.
Said portal shall be developed to disseminate the completed research of the DepEd personnel from the Regional Office (RO), Schools Division Offices (SDOs), and schools which can be accessed by research enthusiasts for literature review and reference.
It will also be an avenue to determine the status of utilization of the conducted research along the different themes.
The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of Education Program Supervisor Leah L. Olua of PPRD on the system she initially programmed. There was also a discussion on web hosting and proposed training for the RO and SDO research and ICT coordinators.
A Memorandum of Agreement was presented by the PSU and for further review by the DepEd.
The portal will be developed by PSU as part of its extension program under the leadership of University President Elbert M. Galas and PSU – Urdaneta City Campus Executive Director Roy C. Ferrer.
The engagement was also participated by PSU faculty members Caren Pacol, Arnie-Rie Tamayo, Leo Gabriel Villanueva, and Rhenel Bernisca with Stephanie T. Montemayor of the PPRD, Darius C. Nieto of the Education Support Services Division, Glaiza S. Leonen of the Legal Unit, and German P. Junio of the Information and Communications Technology Unit.
