San Fernando City – As of July 30, the Schools Division Offices (SDO) of Alaminos City, Dagupan City, San Carlos City, Pangasinan I, and Pangasinan II have already completed their distribution of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards with connectivity load to their teachers and non-teaching personnel.

Meanwhile, distribution in Urdaneta City, Vigan City, Candon City, San Fernando City, La Union, and Ilocos Norte are ongoing.

Laoag City, Batac City, and Ilocos Sur SDOs will commence distribution on August 2.

“In the regional office, we have already distributed 133 SIM cards,” Rowie Red Balanon, chief of the Asset Management Section, said.

A total of 54,837 SIM cards was allocated for region 1.

Few of the SDOs with lacking allocation are waiting for additional SIM cards for some of their personnel.

All permanent, contractual, and local government unit-paid personnel working under DepEd schools and offices are eligible to receive sim cards.
Said sim cards are activated with an initial 34GB load consumable for one year.

In a statement, Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del B. Pascua earlier said that the DepEd has procured the SIM cards and connectivity load from an external partner for all the teaching and non-teaching personnel to ensure ease in communication and unhampered delivery of services amid the crisis.
