Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD) and Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) personnel joined the DepEd Region V 5th Regional Symposium on Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects and graduation ceremony with the theme “Innovating , Recreating , and Navigating towards Embracing Changes in the New and Next Normal through Continuous Improvement Methodologies” at the Marison Hotel, Legaspi City , Albay on August 1.
The event was participated in by Regional Director Gilbert T. Sadsad of Region V, Schools Division Superintendents (SDSs), and Assistant SDSs of the ten division offices. The launching of CI e-book, ribbon-cutting ceremony, and gallery walk to CI exhibits, ceremonial turn-over of CI Projects to the CLMD and PPRD, graduation rites, pinning and awarding ceremony were also highlighted.
In his inspirational message, RD Sadsad emphasized that there is no perfect school plan in the new normal but what CI offers is its application as seen in the utilization of baseline data, piloting solutions to identify root causes and rolling out the best solution that work. He underscored that collaboration is what the organization needs to provide support in implementing CI in schools.
In DepEd ROV, CI Project has existed for six years since 2015 and it has been tested to have improved processes in schools and SDOs. With its 13 divisions, the region compiled a total of 234 CI projects.
ROI personnel witnessed the event, benchmarked the region’s process, and evaluated the various SDOs CI presenters who shared their insights, experiences, and best practices in CI journey.
Just as what John Hunter, a renowned guru on management improvement focused on continuous improvement, process improvement, and systems thinking once quoted “Continuous Improvement means that we never perceive current success as our final achievement,” DepEd ROI continues to adhere the CI principle that consistently implements programs, projects, and activities in ensuring positive outcomes for leaners.
