SAN FERNANDO CITY – Regional Director Tolentino G. Aquino continues to urge the Department of Education Regional Office I (DepEd ROI) personnel, including teaching and non-teaching staff from the different schools division offices, to register for vaccination and protect themselves from the corona virus disease.
As of June 13, 94 out of the 151 employees in the RO have been vaccinated; 20 of them have completed the required two doses.
Meanwhile, out of the 47,913 eligible personnel for vaccination, 9.5 percent or 4,538 teaching and non-teaching personnel have already received their first dose, while 1.5 percent or 735 have completed their vaccination.
More than 50 percent have registered for vaccination and are awaiting the full-blast vaccination of the A4 priority category, which include the front liner in the education sector.
“We continue to encourage our teachers and personnel to make informed decisions to get themselves vaccinated and support initiatives of the government in mitigating and responding to this disease,” Aquino said.
Aquino, through an office memorandum, reiterated that RO personnel must abide to the health standards and protocols to ensure their health, safety, and welfare.
Daily screening procedures for personnel reporting for work must be observed.
Visitors or clients entering the regional office are also advised to submit themselves for screening by the nurse or officer-on-duty and stay in the designated holding area to minimize contact exposure.
Also encouraging other personnel who have not yet registered for vaccination, Dr. Romarie Castillo, medical officer IV, said: “let’s be cognizant that it is our responsibility to get ourselves vaccinated for our own protection and those of our loved one.”
Earlier in May, DepEd rolled-out the Vacc2School: Ligtas na Bakuna Para sa Balik-Eskwela campaign which aims to inform, educate, and engage DepEd stakeholders in promoting the vaccination drive and other related programs like the BIDA Solusyon Plus of Department of Health.
