SAN FERNANDO CITY (February 4, 2022) – To obtain optimal level of physical wellness among personnel, the Department of Education Regional Office 1 (DepEd ROI) conducted a one-day Physical “Tune Up” on February 3, 2022, via the Zoom platform.

The Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), in partnership with the Education Support Services Division (ESSD) spearheaded the activity, where discussions were focused on maintaining a healthy quality of life allowing personnel to get through daily activities without excessive fatigue or physical stress through proper diet and nutrition.

“To have a productive organization, we need healthy personnel,” Assistant Regional Director Ronald B. Castillo stressed during the opening program.

“At the end of the day, it is the choice of the individual how he or she takes care of himself or herself so that this activity will be of big help in making the best choice in becoming healthy and productive,” he added.

The resource persons were Medical Officer IV, Dr. Romarie Joy S. Castillo, and Nutritionist/Dietitian II Maricris A. Rimas of ESSD who discussed about Fighting Obesity and Proper Nutrition, respectively. 

Nutrition coach Jay Ronald Nonesa was likewise invited to conduct body scan analysis among participants and suggested diet plan based on the results of the analysis.
