The Department of Education (DepEd) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) for the development and implementation of a digitized monitoring and evaluation system for School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), on April 28, 2025.
The MOA formalizes the commitment of both to streamline the monitoring of the SBFP and nutrition of the students. It focuses on improving M&E practices, highlighting the need for transparency, accountability, and shared governance for the effective and efficient implementation of SBFP.
DepEd was led by Regional Director (RD) Tolentino G. Aquino, along with Assistant RD Rhoda T. Razon, Chiefs Oscar P. Flores and Sarah Q. Casuga, Darius Neto, Project Development Officer IV, and Maricris Rimas, Nutritionist-Dietician II, in the signing. The Quality Assurance Division and Education Support Services Division will be leading the utilization of the said system.
Dr. Alvin Malicdem, dean of College of Information Technology (CIT) in DMMMSU, Eusebio L. Mique Jr., head of Management Information Service (MIS), Marydel Estira and Edelvar Malamion, faculty from CIT were present during the MOA signing.
The pilot implementer of the system the schools division of La Union, specifically the districts of Bacnotan and San Juan.
