The Department of Education (DepEd) meets with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the region to discuss curriculum alignment, learner attrition, and pre-service teacher preparation, on October 8, 2025, at the DepEd Executive Conference Hall in the City of San Fernando, La Union.

The inter-agency meeting underscored the importance of data sharing, mentoring enhancement, and synchronized learning pathways to ensure quality and continuity across all education levels.

“A well-aligned curriculum bridges basic, higher, and technical education, ensuring that every learner progresses with purpose and preparedness,” Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, CHED regional director, said.

Highlighting the value of readiness for both employment and lifelong learning, Socorro F. Galanto, TESDA assistant regional director  shares, “inter-agency collaboration allows us to equip learners not only with knowledge but with relevant skills that respond to industry and community needs.”

Meanwhile, Regional Director Tolentino G. Aquino reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to fostering strong institutional partnerships.

“Our shared vision is to ensure that no learner is left behind, from basic to higher and technical education, every Filipino has access to quality, aligned, and inclusive learning opportunities.”

The meeting concluded with agreements to enhance inter-agency data sharing, align curricular frameworks, and improve pre-service teacher preparation and assessment mechanisms. Through these collective efforts, DepEd, CHED, and TESDA in the region aim to build a more cohesive and responsive education system that supports learners’ growth and employability.
