CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Department of Education Regional Office I (DepEd ROI) strengthens research culture, through coaching and mentoring to guide researchers and research enthusiasts in the different functional divisions and Schools Division Offices (SDOs).
The month-long activity, which was conducted recently through MS Teams was spearheaded by the Policy, Planning and Research Division (PPRD) led by Chief Education Supervisor Cecilia P. Rosido and guided by the chair of the Regional Research Committee, Assistant Regional Director Ronald B. Castillo.
The program was participated by Education Program Supervisors (EPSs) from the different SDOs and the RO, together with Senior Education Program Specialists for Planning and Research.
The resource persons include EPS Liezl Mique who lectured about Assessing a Researchable Situation – Introduction and Rationale; EPS Melisa del Prado, Developing Research Questions – Statement of the Problem; EPS Oliver Gutierrez, Setting the Scope and Limitation with Theoretical Framework; EPS Ryan Bantiding, Literature Review; EPS Juner Windel Valdez, Choosing the Appropriate Research Design; EPS Edwina Manalang, Sampling, Data Instrumentation, and Collection; and EPS Leah Olua, Treatment of Qualitative Data, Application of Statistical Tools and Data Interpretation.
Plenary sessions were conducted, including writeshops as well as submission and giving of suggestions and recommendations by the assigned research mentors.
A 10-minute presentation of output was done, followed by comments and suggestions from the mentors.
The outputs shall be refined and submitted to the RO as research proposals for possible funding under the Basic Education Research Fund.
