SAN FERNANDO CITY – Eleven personnel from the Department of Education Regional Office I (DepEd RO I) have completed a Basic Incident Command System (ICS) Training held at the National Educators Academy of the Philippines on January 21-23, 2020.

The program that was initiated by the Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Section of the Education Support Services Division was attended by more than 25 participants.

Through the assistance of five trainers from the Region1 Incident Management Team, the participants learned how to manage planned events and major incidents; use of transfer of command, demobilization, and close-out; and the ICS principles, organization, background, overview, and features.

The training was conducted in accordance with the Civil Service Commission Memorandum which, states that government agencies are mandated to train personnel on DRRM.

The trainers included Police Captain Melanie Q. Lobusta-Cedeńo of San Fernando City Police Station; Jiyger A. Pre, DMMMSU-South La Union Campus; Ronald E. Talagtag, Regional Incident Management Team Officer; and Mike Aldrin T. Sabado and Freddie C. Evangelista of the Office of Civil Defense Region 1.
