San Fernando City – Representatives from the various Functional Divisions and Sections of DepEd Regional Office I joined the kick-off ceremony of the 2020 National Women’s Month Celebration held at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University Covered Court, March 8.
The whole-day event, sponsored by the Region 1 Advocates for Gender and Equality (RAGE1) and participated in by various Regional Line Agencies and Local Government Units, highlighted various GAD Advocay talks as well as health and wellness fair.
In her welcome remarks, Ms. Perla Sotelo, RAGE1 President, stressed that the celebration is not to fight the men but to fight for women’s rights.
She also underscored the importance of acknowledging the contributions of women in the society and challenged the participants to continue working for women empowerment and gender equality.
Several activities were prepared for the activity including the Sama-sama Para sa Zumba led by the ITRMC Fitness Team. In addition, the Serbisyo Para kay Juan at Juana was conducted which featured free legal, medical, and dental services for all.
