SAN FERNANDO CITY – To gather and ensure the accuracy and comprehensive baseline data of school facilities in the region that will be encoded in the Basic Education Information System (BEIS), the Department of Education (DepEd) Central and Regional Offices conducted a data validation and system orientation to select schools on January 12-13, 2020.
The result of the activity will be used as reference and basis for planning, budgeting and decision making on the current conditions of buildings, classrooms, furniture and fixtures, and other facilities.
The San Juan Senior High School Stand Alone, Bacnotan National High School, and Bitalag Integrated School in Bacnotan, La Union underwent National School Building Inventory (NSBI) validation through the personnel of the Planning Service, DepEd Central Office.
The group of validators includes the Policy, Planning and Research Division of the DepEd Regional Office I and the Schools Division Office (SDO) of La Union personnel in charge of LIS/EBEIS, EPS-planning and research, and property custodian.
The validation of data was based on NSBI template as uploaded by the schools in the EBEIS system.
The designated property custodians were interviewed as to the processes done in the school on buildings and facilities and the NSBI forms were scrutinized and checked if the data conforms to the actual facilities during the ocular inspection.
The personnel from the SDOs shared the concerns encountered by the schools in encoding the data.
They were properly addressed by the CO through hands-on activities showing the procedure in using the system and encoding the actual data in offline mode.
