CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The first batch recipients of Basic Education Research Fund (BERF) for FY 2020 underwent rigorous writeshop in the Journal Writing II through MS Teams platform on October 11-15, 2021.
In this activity, researchers must pass the Gunning Fog Readability Index (GFRI) and PubSURE after the final approval of the blind reviewers.
The GFRI is a platform that tests the readability of the manuscripts and gauges the texts if understood by the intended audience.
The PubSURE, on the other hand, is a platform that checks the manuscripts in different parameters, such as languages, citations, author details, ethical declarations, conflicts of interest, data access statements, and citations in abstract.
The Department of Education Regional Office I, through the Policy, Planning, and Research Division led by Chief Education Supervisor Cecilia P. Rosido conducted the Journal Writing to ensure quality papers that will be published in the refereed journal.
The researchers were mentored by Education Program Supervisors who acted as internal evaluators, namely Feljone Ragma, Schools Division Office of Candon City; Edwina Manalang, Quality Assurance Division; and Leah Olua, Policy, Planning, and Research Division.
The Region focuses on the dissemination and utilization of the completed researches. Assistant Regional Director Ronald B. Castillo, chairperson Regional Research Committee, underscored the importance of research in the decision-making processes by contextualizing policies based on the results.
As the research endeavors are shaped by the current health crisis situation, ARD Castillo expressed his liking to read as well some researches on effective practices in the Alternative Work Arrangements during the pandemic. He encouraged research enthusiasts to keep on writing.
